Important Notice for October 2009 Term

There is a severe shortage of accommodation close to the College due to a sudden inflow of overseas students in this area.

We hereby announce a review of our accommodation policy in the light of current developments in this part of the UK regarding rental premises and the lack of preparation shown by some of the students that have arrived at other institutions in London.  Anglian College London has always warned its students not to travel to the UK without good planning and preparation.  We have also provided students with helpful information on our website, stressing the need to prepare in advance for studies.  This revised policy, dated 12 September 2009, in line with the delayed Tuition Fee Policy Review, takes effect immediately on all accommodation bookings placed with Anglian College London, and supersedes any previous policies or rates published on our prospectus, website, publishing materials and seminars.  If you wish to arrange accommodation through us, you must read and agree to the following:

1.     You must inform us TWO WEEKS before your arrival, AFTER making cleared payment of your Accommodation Booking Fees.  We cannot guarantee your accommodation otherwise.

2.     The Accommodation Booking Fee is now GBP 700.00 per person (plus an additional GBP 700.00 for each dependant if required), which covers:

• 1 month rent of GBP 600.00 for a Single Room that accommodates only one student.  A single bed in a shared bedroom costs GBP 500.00, which will be reduced to GBP 400.00 from the second month.  We reserve the right to offer you (at the applicable fee) whichever type(s) of accommodation is available at the time of your arrival, with no right to a full refund if you do not like what is available.  If you disagree with this rule, please do not book accommodation through us.
• The minimum stay is now 1 month, not two weeks as before.
• You must provide or bring your own food, linen and cutlery.
• GBP 100.00 (or GBP 200.00) is a deposit that is refundable when you leave the property undamaged after the first month.

3.     You must give at least TWO WEEKS' NOTICE if you want to leave the premises, or you will lose your deposit!

4.     Again, give us two weeks notice and pay in advance if you wish to stay for a second month and if the arrangement is available at that time.

5.     One single bed, one cupboard, and shared facilities will be provided to you as standard.

6.     This accommodation facility is at present available only to Anglian College London students.

7.     For students who declared their wish for accommodation, and paid for it, before 12 September 2009, the old policy applies.

8.     This policy (like all Anglian College policies) is subject to review at any time.

Our online application system for accommodation for the next academic year has been suspended until further notice.

To book for your accommodation, please email the wire transfer receipt of your payment to  admissions@angliancollege.co.uk  after you have made the payment of GBP700.00 with 'Accommodation' clearly mentioned in the subject line.

We advise all our students to come with additional funds to support them at least for six months, which will help you have peace of mind in case of problems.  However, do not be frightened away because the UK is still a land of opportunities, and an excellent place for further and higher education.  Please read our blogs on www.angliancollege.co.uk/blog  for the latest news and views about the College and the situation in general.
