Our Agents and Representatives

Anglian College London, has established relationships with many UK and overseas agents through whom prospective students may apply or seek advice.

We have recently had a little surge of recruitment of new agents, but now the time has come to say, regretfully, that we have enough agents from south Asia and cannot accept any more.  We must focus our energies on getting to know our new partners better, discovering who are most effective in particular areas, and supporting you with better information and marketing materials.  Plus of course registering and teaching a whole new intake of students.  2009 has been a difficult year, with the new student visa rules creating all sorts of uncertainties and problems.  Once our upgraded IT system has bedded in, we shall try to keep you informed with regular, short agents' newsletters.

We still welcome agency applications from other parts of the world.  If that applies to you, read on ...

Please note that our administration system for corresponding with agents is being upgraded, and this page will soon be changed substantially.  To help our staff, agents need to quote their ACL agent ID number on all correspondence.  To get that number an agent needs to fill in the online application form, which is still only a preliminary version with lots of faults.  It will insist on answers to several questions that are really not necessary, ask you to invent username and password, and generally be thoroughly annoying!  In the phone number fields it will not allow you to use any spaces or to preface your country code with the recommended standard + sign so please use 00 instead.  Sorry!  Please be patient and do your best to cope with the form as it exists today.  Please also help us by taking great care with how you enter your name and address, so that we can clearly see which is your forename and which is your surname (family name) as would be understood in the UK, and also how your address divides into multiple lines as they should be written on envelopes.  To apply, click here ...

All applicants should thoroughly read the pages in this section and do their own careful checks before committing legally and financially to an agreement with an agent.

When using a cheque or a draft to pay fees, take care to make it payable to ANGLIAN COLLEGE LONDON, not to an agent.  This is because the College has no legal or financial control over its partners and agents.

Appointing an Agent - Advantage or Disadvantage?

An experienced organisation that is genuinely good at supporting students may help you to prepare documents necessary for a visa application.  However, British embassies, consulates and High Commissions overseas display in their premises enough information for you to apply for a visa without needing to go through an agent.  In many countries, British visa or entry clearance officers arrange training for local agents on how to deliver good service to students then award a certificate for completing such training or attending seminars.  Trained agents should therefore be particularly aware of the requirements of the entry clearance officers.  It is up to you to decide, but please do go through these pages for further details.
