By admin, Aug 9th, 2009

Special Winter Term 2009:  Following the introduction of PBS, the British High Commission overseas have been flooded with applications for a student visa. It has caused significant delays for our students who were planning to join in the Sep/Oct term. To ensure that those students are not disadvantaged, the College has introduced this term to begin on the last week of October and end on the last week of January. Course length and number of tuition hours will not be affected due to this change.  We now urge you to seize this opportunity and apply for your student visa the soonest.

Anglian College London is an ‘A’ Rated UKBA Licensed College!

Anglian College London and the Points Based System for International Student Visas

As part of the UK government’s changes to its immigration and visa systems called “the points based system”, any new or prospective students willing to come to study at Anglian will fall within a category commonly known as Tier 4. Therefore, if you wish to join us in the UK to study in a course or a programme and you need a Tier 4 (student) visa, you will need to be sponsored by us (Anglian College London).  Because we have been given a sponsor’s licence for Tier 4 by the UK government, we will be able to sponsor you for your studies.

Anglian College London has been granted a Category A Sponsor’s Licence for Tier 4 (Students) within the Points Based System. Our Sponsor Licence Number (SLN) is  Q630FRHV7.

If you have not paid before 18/06/09 (when the Terms of Application were amended), contact admissions urgently to see if the minimum deposit required may have changed. However, if you had made payment before that date, we will continue to issue you with the new ‘Visa Letter’. The ‘Visa Letter’ is a new form of ‘Admissions to Anglian College London’ letter which is now re-constructed to meet the requirements laid out by the UKBA e.g. SLN, CAS etc.  We may also need to contact you for further details and documents, such as a copy of your passport, copies of your educational qualifications and bank statements to check that you are able to support yourself financially. Do not submit forged documents or their copies; we will find out.

Immigration policies in the UK are constantly changing these days. Please visit the following links for futher information and keep abreast of new developments:

Anglian College London Summer Party 2009

By admin, Jun 20th, 2009

London, 11/06/09
A party was organised here for the students and staff of Anglian College London to mark the end of Spring Academic Term and their efforts in teaching and learning over the past twelve months. The initiative was taken by the Administration Department with the help of various members of the Student Group. An educational trip around the historic town of Greenwich led by the Principal himself, who has been residing in the area for quite some time, followed by a long awaited Boat Party pre-arranged by Bish, Joe, Mandish, Radhika and others, were the attractions of the day. While sailing on the boat from Greenwich to Central London, the Principal took his moment to give a welcome speech, which was then followed by a free drink session offered by the College. A raffle draw was also held for the participants. The apex of the party came when the two times Gold Medalist and the longest ’serving’ student at the College, Prakash, was duly awarded a laptop by the Principal.

All students seemed very happy to let go the pressure of their exams and enjoy the event to its best. Betsy, Kazeem, Karuna, Noble, Lucy, Ajing Cao, Shuang, Sanjita, Ram, Hilda, Nellie, Naseem, Suresh, Harrison, Moses, Puskar and their friends ensured a lively environment of fun, dance and social interactions. In the end, it proved to be a highly successful social event for both the students and staff – something nice to be emulated by next year’s students.

Photos of the party are to be published on our website soon.

Point Based System, PSB – Student Visa to the UK

By admin, May 3rd, 2009

From April 2009, all students who wish to study at Anglian College London, must apply uner the Point Based System (PBS), which requires prospective students to ensure that they are eligible for 40 points.

An Admission to Anglian College London letter gives a prospective student 30 points straightaway. Whereas they must show that they have 5400 GBP in their bank for at least 1 month  for them to claim another 10 points. There is no other way to get points.

Anglian College London will be the sponsor of a student who wishes to apply for a student visa to study at Anglian College London. The College is, in the meantime, awaiting the Home Office licence that it applied for in March. All students who have applied for a course will be issued a Visa Letter in due course which they can submit to the local British Embassy or High Commission alongside their application for an Entry Clearance or a visa.

Message from the Anglian College London Principal, Dr A Durham, MA, PhD

By admin, Jul 9th, 2008

Dr. AnthonyWelcome to our website, with information about Anglian College London. Here you can browse through our courses, find out how to join us, and also learn about life in the UK and the College.

Anglian is a small college in a big city. So we understand that money does not grow on trees. We want to help you get the best possible education that you can afford. That means high quality teaching, good facilities, and competent administration – all for reasonable fees.

At Anglian College we try to draw the best out of all our students, so they work effectively as well as hard, and so they gain knowledge as well as passing exams. Some of our programmes teach quite general skills, such as Business Studies and Information Technology. Others lead to more specific qualifications, such as the National Certificate in Dental Nursing.

Your life outside the classroom is important too. Anglian College’s location means that you will pay lower housing, living, and transport costs than in other parts of Greater London. Yet you will still be within easy range of central London if you need a part-time job. And of course you will have ready access to all the social life, free entertainment, and human diversity of one of the world’s greatest metropolitan areas.

Anthony Durham MA, PhD
Principal
