H1N1 Flu Pandemic ‘Still Likely’

By admin, May 3rd, 2009

A global H1N1 flu pandemic is still expected, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned, despite the virus not spreading in a sustained way outside of the Americas.

At least 615 cases of the virus have been confirmed in 15 countries, but the majority remain in Mexico and the United States, WHO officials said on Saturday.

Costa Rica, Italy, and Ireland have become the latest countries to confirm cases of the virus, taking the total number of affected nations to 18.

Once again, we urge all Anglian College London students and ‘Friends of Anglian’ to remain extremely vigilant of the flu developments around them and take every precaution possible to avert the disease.
