At Anglian College London, we currently offer over 50 courses representing different academic pathways. Here in the UK, colleges and universities offer programmes designed by world renowned British institutions and associations of distinguished professionals who have had years of experience in their fields.
We offer high quality courses ranging from Certificate or Foundation Diplomas to Higher and Advanced Diplomas provided by such reputable institutions as the British Computer Society (BCS, an organisation of British computer scientists), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS), City and Guilds (C & G), the Association of Business Executives (ABE), the Oxford Cambridge and RSA (OCR), and the National Examination Board for Dental Nursing (NEBDN).
Yes. Unlike many "colleges", Anglian College is accredited and/or registered and/or authorised to conduct the courses we offer and accept applications for.
At present the minimum age to join Anglian College London is 18. We are sorry we cannot accept you now, but please do keep in touch, keep looking for updates on our websites, keep working on your education, and apply when you turn 18. Thank you for your interest.
It is difficult to summarise in a single paragraph what else you require, but don't worry. Requirements depend on which course or programme you would like to pursue. Each course has its own entry requirement; please check on the courses section of our websites, prospectuses and other published materials, including those of the course provider associations.
The minimum qualification we expect you to have is the equivalent of GCSE ‘O’ levels or 11 years of schooling in your country of residence. There are more details elsewhere on this website .
The company was established in 2004 to promote affordable education to both home and overseas students who would otherwise have to pay tens of thousands of pounds at other UK colleges or universities.
Our first campus is in Woolwich, in the south-east of Greater London, a few miles from the famous Canary Wharf business district and the Greenwich Observatory. We plan to develop other campuses and tuition centres in in due course.
Non-UK students may work up to 20 hours a week during term time, and full time during holidays. UK students have no limit, but they would be wise to stick to similar limits in order not to damage their performance at College.
The short answer NO, since we are a college not a job centre. More than that, however, it would be against the law for an employer to discriminate by offering jobs to a particular class of people that they do not know, so no college can (honestly) guarantee you a job. All that Anglian College (or anyone) can offer is to help you where to look for at all Getting a job in the UK is a result of a rigorous procedure. An employer has to advertise his job, and then invite a selected group of short-listed applicants before they can be made a job offer. Any company not following the procedure will be breaching the Employment Law of the kingdom, hence guaranteeing a job bypassing such an efficient system would be unthinkable for any organisation in the UK. A college should never make such false promises. Being one of the responsible colleges and educational establishments in the UK we can not possibly guarantee you a job.
It is certainly possible. We have repeatedly made efforts to find jobs for most of our students through our Student Services section and have been successful in many cases. Many of our students are able to find jobs easily in London and it is good to see that they are also helping each other in doing so.
The minimum wage in the UK at the moment is GBP 5.35 per hour, but you could easily achieve more if you have suitable qualifications and experience for the jobs on offer.
The idea of the government, we think, could be that you would get some pocket money by working up to 20 hours as well as support the economy of the country without jeopardising your studies or quickly turning into a full time worker instead. The main source of fund for your studies ought to be your sponsors, whether your parents, friends and relatives or in some other acquaintances.
It is not legal for an overseas student to work for more than 20 hours a week, and strongly unadvised for the home students due to the adverse effects it may have on their studies.
