University of London Undergraduate Degrees - External Programme

Anglian College provides high quality tuition for various University of London degrees at very affordable fees.

This allows prospective students to enrol, at a minimum cost, on UoL external programmes and achieve the same degree as those spending nearly two or three times as much to attend classes in University premises.  Please read through the prospectus and the courses and fees section for more details on courses.

Four undergraduate degrees (BSc Hons) can be earned by studying at Anglian: in Business, Computing and Information Systems, Information Systems and Management, or Management.  Law degrees may become available soon.

You Need to Register with UoL as well as with Anglian College London

Students need to register with the University of London in order to attend their exams and obtain their degree.  This is an entirely separate procedure from registering with Anglian College London.  Enrolling for Anglian College's courses does NOT automatically make you an External Student with the University of London.

The process is quite similar to registering for professional diplomas with IMIS, ABE, ACCA or OCR, but slower.  At quiet times of year, the University of London usually deals with applications (so long as they are error-free and non-problematic) in about two weeks, but during the summer peak this can slow down a lot.  Visit their website for the latest information.  In practice this means that if you don't get your exam results until August it is hard to push an application through in time to begin studying in September.  You may succeed if you apply earlier in the year and get everything sorted out except the exam results to follow as soon as they become available.  Also you may be able to shave off some time and uncertainty by paying an agent to help with your application.  All this does not matter if you are able to plan well ahead or if Anglian College is running the course you want in December.  Alternatively, if you take the risk of enrolling anyhow at Anglian College and your exam results are less than you expected, so that UoL will not accept you onto their degree programme, you can just trade down (perhaps temporarily) to a diploma course.  Please contact Admissions if you need more details.

This timing issue has become more important with the new (and still not properly working) immigration rules.  In theory it should be possible for Anglian College to issue you a sponsorship letter to apply for a student visa to come to the UK even before your intended degree programme has been sorted out.  In practice, that adds an element of risk to your application which you might be wise to avoid.

Once you have accepted our Offer of a Place for a university degree course and you arrive in the UK or you are registered with Anglian College London as a result, you will need to go through the university's application process until it reaches a final decision.  If the application is accepted, you are expected to pursue the course and achieve that degree.  Anglian College shall not be obliged to offer you any alternative course.  Please also check relevant terms and conditions of application.
