General Information for New Arrivals

Some advice for new students:
(a) Identity card and/or passport
(b) Letter from Anglian College London confirming your acceptance onto a full-time degree programme
(c) Documentary evidence of financial support to cover your tuition fees (where applicable) and living costs
(d) 4 passport photographs (for after you arrive)
(e) Accommodation information stating the house/room that has been booked for you
You should be able to show that:
(a) You have sufficient funds to support yourself or, where applicable, to pay your tuition fees.
(b) You have made firm arrangements to have maintenance funds sent to you at regular intervals if necessary.
(c) You have enough GB pounds currency to cover your expenses on arrival and for your first few days in the UK. Your immediate expenses will most probably be transportation to the College, meals, other essential items, and possibly overnight accommodation if you arrive before your College accommodation is ready.
(d) You must demonstrate that you at least have sufficient funds to cover for the initial period before you are due to receive the first remittance from your sponsor.
1.3 Correspondence address in the UK
Have you given your family and friends the full and correct postal address of either the College or the allocated accommodation in which you will be staying? Alternatively, if you are planning to stay with relatives or in privately hired accommodation, have you given those details to the College?
Do you have warm clothing to wear on your arrival? It can be cold at any time of the year in the UK.
Do you know someone in the UK who can meet you when you arrive? Anglian College cannot meet students at airports
Please remember that Woolwich is situated 8 miles south-east of the centre of London, so you must allow time to travel to Woolwich after reaching London.
Heathrow International Airport is the most convenient airport and there are taxis which can transport you and your luggage directly to the College. However, you may prefer to go straight to your accommodation and go the the College later to complete the remaining registration formalities.
1.6 Accommodation
If you are considering some accommodation and need experienced, local advice about it, ask the College's Student Welfare Officer for an independent opinion.
