The hustle and bustle of Woolwich offers great facilities for students, and opportunities to secure a part-time job to earn some pocket money or to supplement your finances.  Building work on the new DLR station is moving ahead fast.  Once the DLR station is operational it will bring many visitors
into the town. Woolwich is unquestionably a place to be

All major UK banks have branches in Woolwich town centre. A busy shopping centre and street market sell food and goods originating from Persia, China, Eastern Europe, and the Indian sub-continent, at competitive prices.  Woolwich is particularly noteworthy for its 'factory outlets', which are shops that sell at very low or factory level prices. Clarks, Marks and Spencer, Burtons and Littlewoods all retail at wholesale prices — an outstanding opportunity for bargain hunters. 

Because Woolwich is the administrative centre for the local borough council, many of its public services are conveniently close.  For example there is its reference library, heritage library, and lending library, which also gives you free access to some otherwise costly reference information on the Internet.
